TV3 – Televisió de Catalunya has been the leading Catalan language broadcaster since 1983 and with channel Esport3 celebrating its fifth birthday on 5th February 2016, the new deal with WorldSBK proves a perfect celebration for both parties.

TV3 – Televisió de Catalunya is a reference in motorsports production and will further add to their resumé by broadcasting live with commentary from both rounds held within Spain as WorldSBK and Esport3 prepare to reach a whole new audience this year, focusing on Catalan rider Jordi Torres who looks ahead to his second season in the Championship after a stunning debut.

TV3 Sports director Josep Maria Farras describes the agreement as great news for Catalan spectators:  “TV3 has always been committed to motorsport, but for the first time we can offer a whole spectacular championship such as WorldSBK. We are proud to announce this premium content, which will take the thrill of racing across the Esport3 screen and will bring the chance to live all the adrenaline of the track along with our riders.”

Manel Arroyo, Managing Director, TV and Media Area at Dorna, added: “This new agreement with TV3 – Televisió de Catalunya is fantastic for the Championship and for the far-reaching fanbase of World Superbike in Catalonia, with Esport3 sharing the target market of World Superbike perfectly. WorldSBK is a global sport and to work with a broadcast partner such as Esport3, adding another language to the many in which WorldSBK is already broadcast, is another exciting step as we take WorldSBK into a new era.”

The first race of the 2016 season will take place in Phillip Island, Australia, prefaced by the Season Preview show and all shown live on Esport3 for the first time in the history of WorldSBK.
