Thailand faltered to Spain in first match of FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup

Thailand put up some tough resistance but faltered to Spain 5-2 in their first game of Group B of the FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup 2025 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Vane Sotelo’s seventh minute lead for Spain was cancelled out by Thailand’s Jenjira Bubpha just two minutes later.

Irene Cordoba then restored the advantage for Spain in the 11^th minute, only to see Thailand once again draw level through Sasikarn Thongdee’s 14^th minute finish.

However, Spain would soon tighten up their game for Laura Cordoba to strike twice (16^th and 28^th minute) and Maria Navarro’s 32^nd minute effort for the final score line.

In an earlier group match, Colombia beat Canada 2-0.
