seag.logo.3Cambodian team manager Chiang Piseth has expressed his disappointment with SINGSOC (the Singapore Southeast Asian Games Organising Committee).

Speaking at the post-match press conference last night, Chiang said while there were several things which his delegation was not happy about with SINGSOC, it is the food and transportation issue which has them up in arms.

“They told us to fill up the questionnaire on what we think of the food that has been provided and how it can be improved. But to this day which is already almost to the end, nothing is done,” said Chiang.

“I had followed things up several times but still there has been no response.

“And the worse thing is that we are not even allowed to bring our own food into the hotel. At the very least, if they don’t want to improve on the food issue then they should allow us to buy our own food.

“Food is a very sensitive issue, as you know. So we are very disappointed with SINGSOC.”

Chiang also pointed out that his team had wanted to watch matches of the other teams in their Group A but were also not allowed as no transportation was provided.

“They only provide buses for those teams who are playing,” added Chiang.

“When we requested for transport to watch the Myanmar-Indonesia game for example, they said no.

“Football is different from other sports and I think that it is about time, the organization for football at the SEA Games is changed. They cannot keep on doing the same thing over and over again.

“Football is used to a different standard of organization as we have a regional federation like the AFF (Asean Football Federation), who made sure that things are set to a certain level of expectations.”
