Ramdan Rosli profile

Mohd Ramdan Rosli was left frustrated at the Catalunya Circuit on Sunday, having crashed out of the second leg of the Moto2 European Championship that runs with the FIM CEV Repsol.

The PETRONAS AHM Malaysia rider who qualified for third row enjoyed a smooth take-off and was seen battling it out with the front group before crashing out at the first turn in the second lap.

Meanwhile Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex) took a resounding victory in the Moto2 race, completing the gruelling 17-lap battle within 30’35.030s ahead of Luca Marini and Alan Techer with 30’42.958s and 30’46.209s respectively.

“The bike felt good in the race and I pushed hard as the chattering issues we faced during qualifying were gone. I was trying to close in on the frontrunners before I lost my front and crashed. We could have had a better race and I am sorry to letdown the team and fans. I will give my best and be better prepared for the next race in Aragon,” said the PETRONAS Talent Development rider.

PETRONAS AHM Malaysia manager, Kenny Chua said, “Ramdan did the best he could this weekend. He is gaining confidence with his riding and the bike. The team did a great job as well to prepare a competitive bike for him. Unfortunately, lady luck was not on our side this weekend. Now we look forward to the next race at the Aragon Circuit where two races will take place, hence it’s critical to do well there.”

Previously Ramdan finished the first two races of the Moto2 European Championship in Portimao, Portugal 16th and 22nd.
