Round 3 Petronas AAM Malaysian Cubprix Championship 2017

Following an incident during the Round 3 of the Petronas AAM Malaysian Cubprix Championship 2017 at Bandar Baru Kijal, Kemaman, Terengganu on the 5th and 6th of May 2017, it was with great sadness that we have received a report of the death of a CP150 rider competitor number 19, Norizman Ismail during the Official Time Practice.

Norizman Ismail crashed on his own at Turn 1 and slip to the airfence followed by his bike. The marshals and paramedics retrieved him immediately and a red flag was called by the COC at 1552 hours to stop the Official Time Practice.

At 1555 hours, he was retrieved by the circuit ambulance to the Trauma Centre where he was resuscitated by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the doctor in attendance and the Chief Paramedic Officer and sent to the Kemaman Hospital on a life support machine with full medical team in attendance at 1612 hours.

The hospital which is located approximately 10 minutes from the track continue to give their best care possible, but pronounced the rider had passed at 1650 hours on Friday, 5th of May 2017.

The circuit was inspected by AAM Official Circuit Inspector on Thursday 3rd May to ensure all safety features and barriers are in placed for the race.

AAM will set up an Inquiry within the next few days after receving all relevant documents to investigate the incident.

AAM wishes to convey our deepest condolence to the family and friends of Norizman Ismail.
