Buriram United are closing in on the Thai Premier League 2017 crown where they will need just a point from their last three matches to confirm their ascendancy.

A penalty conversion from Diogo Luis Santo late in the game allowed Buriram to beat 10-man Sukhothai 1-0 where they have now picked up 77 points from 31 matches played.

That is eleven more points from nearest rival and defending champions Muang Thong United, who this week failed to get the better of Port FC after being held to a 1-1 draw.

And while Muang Thong might have a game in hand, still it would need them to win all their remaining matches while hoping that Buriram lose their last three games..

Elsewhere, Bangkok United beat Ratchaburi 2-1 as a lone Rodrigo Vergilio goal allowed Navy to edge Si Sa Ket 1-0. Chonburi were held to a 1-1 draw by Bangkok Glass while Chiang Rai United rallied to a 2-2 draw at Pattaya United.
