INDONESIA, Thailand and Singapore joined host Malaysia into the semi-finals of the ASEAN Para Games five-a -side football (Cerebral Palsy) competition held the National Sports Council ground in Bukit Jalil on Wednesday (Sept 20).
The Indonesians marched into the last four following a 10-2 victory over Myanmar, silver medallist at the 2015 Para Games in Singapore. Cahyana, Muhaimi Yahya and Hernanda Yahya scored hat-tricks while Yuliarsi Ahmad netted one.
The result has also opened the door for Thailandās entry into the semi-finals.
The Thais, who suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Indonesia, came through with a 1-0 win over Myanmar to finish second in Group B on four points ā two points behind the Indonesians. In the only Group A match played on Wednesday, Singapore edged Cambodia 4-0.
The Indonesians will go head to head against Singapore in the semi-finals on Friday (Sept 22) and Malaysia face Thailand.
