A heavy downpour in Ipoh today has resulted in a rescheduling of matches on the opening day of the 31st edition of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.
FIH Technical Delegate from Oman, Abdullah Al Harrasi, said the first match between five-time champions India and South Korea that was initially scheduled to be played at 4.00 pm, has now been rescheduled to 10pm, after the conclusion of the Belgium-Canada encounter, which now starts at 8.30pm instead of 8.00pm.
The Malaysia versus New Zealand match, scheduled at 6.00pm, will now be played at 6.30pm.
Abdullah added that the technical committee is monitoring the current weather situation and present change of times is further pending of weather conditions and the condition of pitch.
The rescheduling was due to rain and waterlogged pitch.
