Twins Luo Ying and Luo Yu, China’s leading women’s doubles pair, took just under an hour to wrap up the final and claim their first-ever Maybank Malaysian Open Superseries Premier title at the Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil tonight.

The Luo girls, seeded fourth here, faced stiff opposition from their South Korean final rivals. After a hard-fought battle, the Chinese opponents snacthed the first set 21-18.

The Chinese sisters played with more aggression in the second game and it clearly worked well for them. The South Koreans tried to find their their way back into the game but were unable to match the pace of the Chinese.

The Luo twins, finalists in the recent India Open, went on to win the second game 21-9 to secure the title in just under an hour.
