Thailand’s favourite trail run is back. The North Face 100® Thailand, billed as “Thailand’s Ultimate Trail Running Challenge”, is set to take place 4th February, 2017 in Pakchong District of Nakhon Ratchasima province and organisers expect more than 3,200 trail runners to take part in what has become the largest gathering of Thai and international trail-runners in the country.

With trail running’s popularity on the rise, The North Face 100® Thailand targets runners from all walks of life, challenging them to push their limits, to break All Boundaries, and to Never Stop ExploringTM.

“Registrations opened recently and already we have had huge interest in all distances. It’s encouraging to see so many new people getting into the sport and signing-up for the 15km, and also seeing last year’s first-time trail runners moving up a distance to the 25km. This is great for the future of the sport in Thailand,” said Mr. Chanai Payakkapan, Brand Manager of Thai Outdoor Sport Co. Ltd., exclusive distributor of The North Face® in Thailand.

New for 2017 is the 75km distance category.

“In addition to the 15km, 25km, 50km and 100km distances, we have added a 75km distance for 2017. Talking with past participants, we see more and more completing the 50km distance and wanting to go longer, but perhaps not yet the iconic 100km distance. Looking to challenge themselves further we have introduced the 75km and initial feedback has been very strong,” added Mr. Payakkapan.

Forming part of the The North Face 100® Asia Pacific Series, with events in seven countries (Thailand, China, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong), The North Face 100® Thailand course combines upto 2,664 metres of elevation gain and traditionally hot and dry conditions, it’s toughness underscored by being awarded Qualifying Status for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® – considered the Everest of trail running – consecutively for five years.

The North Face 100® Thailand will take place 4th February, 2017 in Pakchong District of Nakhon Ratchasima province, with the start/ finish at Simalin resort. The Expo and race kit collection is on  3rd February, 2017.
