Go Pei Kee and Low Yeen Yuan advanced into the quarterfinals of the Women’s Doubles of the BERGAMOT KL Masters Malaysia Super 100 2023 after beating compatriot Gan Min Yee-Nicole Tan in their second round encounter here today at the Titiwangsa Stadium.

The tournament’s fifth ranked duo showed their determination to do well on home soil when they put down the challenge of Min Yee-Nicole 21-14, 21-12 in a 34-minute duel.

In the first round this morning, Pei Kee-Yeen Yuan had overcome the test from another Malaysian pair Lee Zhi Qing-Tio Sue Xin 21-16, 21-14.

With the win, Pei Kee-Yeen Yuan will take on Hong Kong’s Lui Lok Lok-Ng Wing Yung in the quarterfinals tomorrow.

The second seeded Lok Lok-Wing Yung were fully tested in the second round of the women’s doubles when Chen Yu-Su-Jeng Yu-Chieh from Chinese Taipei gave them some anxious moments.

Lok Lok-Wing Yung took the first set 21-14 before Yu-Su-Yu-Chieh drew level by taking the next set 21-17.

However, Lok Lok-Wing Yung had just a tad more in the tank to take the rubber set 21-16 for their place in the next round.

For Pei Kee, she will need to be at her level best tomorrow where she will also be down for the quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles.

The 21-year-old, who started partnering with Choong Hon Jian at the end of last year, overcame Chen Sheng-Fa-Lin Jhih Yun from Chinese Taipei 21-16, 24-22 in the first round.

The fourth seeded Pei Kee-Hon Jian then beat another pair from Chinese Taipei when they snuffed out the challenge of Chen Cheng-Kuan-Hsu Yin Hui 21-17, 21-12 in 34 minutes.

In the quarterfinals of the Mixed Doubles tomorrow, Pei Kee-Hon Jian will face unranked Thai duo Tanupat Viriyangkura-Alisa Sapniti, who beat Malaysia’s Juan Jeremy Zhen Liang-Yap Ling 21-16, 21-12 in their second round encounter.
