The FA of Indonesia (PSSI) have appointed Simon McMenemy as the new head coach of the national team.

The Scotsman had previously coached the Philippines national team and also Dong Tam Long An in Vietnam and also several clubs in Indonesia including leading Bhayangkara FC to the Indonesian Liga 1 title last year.

His was confirmed by Joko Driyono, the deputy president of PSSI at a Press Conference this afternoon.

McMenemy’c contract will be for two years until the next AFF Suzuki Cup in 2020.

Other than the appointment of McMenemy, PSSI have also announced Indra Sjafri as the head coach of the Under-22 team for the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines.

Bima Sakti has been appointed as the head coach of the national U16 while Rully Nere will head the women’s coaching staff.
