Entering its second edition, Pulau Indah 180 is still the country’s only 180km cycling event. To complete the 180km route is challenging enough; to make it more competitive, organizer Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd (CSSB) introduces the Team Event Category for the 2017 edition, to be held on 15th January next year.
Being one of the most successful ride events in 2016 with 95% finishers from over 1000 participants including women category. Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd and event manager Ciclista Sports Sdn Bhd, with the support of Majlis Perbandaran Klang is preparing for a bigger, more challenging event.
Pulau Indah 180 also serves to hype up the promotions towards Le Tour de Langkawi 2017 (LTdL), by bringing together the masses of true and serious cycling fans.
At the launch today, LTdL 2017 CEO Emir Abdul Jalal said with the introduction of the Team Event Category, the cyclists will get to experience riding as a team. It will be a unique race as teams strategize and battle for the top spot.
“Just like LTdL’s tagline ‘Asia’s Ultimate Challenge’, the 2017 edition of Pulau Indah 180 will surely be Malaysia’s Ultimate Challenge. We will bring in LTdL’s operational and technical expertise to make sure that the quality of this event is top level. We want the fans to have another memorable riding experience with us.”
The Team Event Category is limited to 30 teams of 10 riders, and will run in compliance with UCI regulations featuring professional race facilities that include race communication, commissaires and team cars. Cyclists will also compete in Men Open, Women Open, Junior Master and Master Categories.
The 22nd edition of LTdL is already expected to attract a large number of television audiences and through the Pulau Indah 180, as with the usual pre-race promotional events, this will also be a chance for fans to ride alongside some of the local and foreign cycling stars who will feature in the LTdL itself.

ABOUT
PULAU INDAH 180 is a “ride and race” event concept depicting the current century ride events that had been blossoming on the nation’s soil for the past few years. As century rides limit their milestone up to 160 km or 100 miles, Pulau Indah 180 pushes the traditional challenge to more than 180 km of sheer riding experience.
Pulau Indah 180 is expecting a greater turnout of participants, targeting a minimum of 1,200 riders. With a greater brand of 180, tougher challenge, Pulau Indah 180 will also be the first riding event in 2017. The event is going to be held on 15thJanuary 2017.
The organiser, Central Spectrum (M) Sdn Bhd (CSSB) is a well establish Industrial land developer and has successfully developed more than 3,000 acres of Industrial land. Currently is developing the last phase the Industrial land of 793 acres. It is now planning to launch the Selangor Bio Bay, a 1,070 acres high technology area.
This upmarket development will have a Yatch Club, Commercial and Dining Areas, Residential and Recreational besides having Enterprise Unit for manufactures in the Bio Technology field. CSSB is also one of the development arms for the Selangor State Government. Having succeeded in developing Pulau Indah endeavors CSSB to promote the whole development of Pulau Indah in a bigger yet smarter way.
Pulau Indah 180 aims to be one of CSSB’s marketing tools to attract foreign cyclists who can also be able to contribute to continuous Domestic Direct Investment, Foreign Direct Investment and Tourism Industry. During CSSB’s trade missions, particularly the recent ones to Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Singapore, it has introduced Pulau Indah 180 event as part of marketing effort to create awareness among foreign companies with regard to investment opportunities in Selangor and particularly in Pulau Indah.
