A second loss in Group B of the Women’s Football event here at the SEA Games 2025 in Chonburi meant that it is all over for the  Malaysia women’s national team.

After conceding a 7-0 loss to Vietnam a few days ago, the Malaysian girls fell to a 3-0 loss to Myanmar tonight.

San Thaw Thaw nailed the opener after 25 minutes to be followed by goals from May Htet Lu (35th minute) and Win Theingi Tun (64th).

With the win, Myanmar stayed top of Group B.

In the meantime, the Philippines pulled off a surprise win over defending champions Vietnam 1-0 to revive their hopes of a place in the semifinals.

After their unimpressive start to the campaign this year, when the Philippines fell to Myanmar in the group opener a few days earlier, the match against Vietnam could not have been more crucial.

But with both teams not letting up for almost the entire exchange, the winner came by way of who else but Mallie Ramirez to deliver the winner right at the end (90th+4).

The win saw the Philippines move up to second as Vietnam are third.
