The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) announced its unanimous support for Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa to remain as the AFC President for another term. The announcement was made at the AFF Council Meeting here today.
The countries affiliated to AFF are Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam. All 12 Member Nations attended today’s AFF Council Meeting.
Shaikh Salman took over as the 10th President of the AFC following his election by a resounding majority in the AFC Extraordinary Congress in May 2013. He was also elected to the FIFA Executive Committee at the Extraordinary Congress.
In 2015, Shaikh Salman was re-elected as the AFC President and as the FIFA Vice President. In 2018, Shaikh Salman was appointed as the FIFA Senior Vice President.
