BWF World Junior Championships 2014 - World Juniors China win three titles

BWF Jati World Junior Championships 2014 LogoIT was pure delight for China’s rising star Chen Qingchen and the opposite for Indonesia’s Rosyita Eka Putri Sari in the Eye Level Cups finals for individual events in the World Junior Badminton Championships which came to a close at the Sultan Abdul Halim Stadium in Alor Star, Kedah on Friday.

The 18-year-old Qingchen walked away with two titles – retaining the mixed doubles title with Huang Kaixiang and ended her junior status by winning the girls’ doubles title with Jia Yi Fan.

The two titles in the World Junior Championships is the begining of a new journey for the shuttler who now aims to take her game to a new level with the hope of making the China senior team.

While Qingchen celebrated, Rosyita was at the losing end in both the finals – the girls’s doubles and the mixed doubles.

Qingchen and Kaixiang, the top seeds, beat Rosyita and Muhammad Rian Adrianto 21-12, 21-17 in 29 minutes for the mixed doubles title. In the girls’ doubles final Qingchen-Yi Fan outplayed Rosyita and her partner Apriani Apriani 21-11, 21-14 in only 26 minutes for the title.

“Winning two titles in the World Junior meet is a big and right step to take my game to a higher level. But it is long journey where I have to work hard if I want to move up,” said Qingchen.
