Korean star Noh Seung-yul, who became the youngest Asian Tour Order of Merit champion in 2010, will lend his star credentials at the Chiangmai Golf Classic presented by PTT in November.

The 23-year-old is highly regarded as one of the most promising talents in world golf and will join an exciting line-up of top names at the US$750,000 Asian Tour event which will be played at the majestic Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai from November 13 to 16.

Major champions Jason Dufner of the United States and Charl Schwartzel of South Africa will headline the second edition of the Chiangmai Golf Classic alongside Australia’s Scott Hend, who is the title holder.

As a teenager, Noh burst onto the Asian Tour scene in 2008 and made an immediate impact by winning his first title at the Midea China Classic in his rookie year.

Two years later, he defeated idol K.J. Choi to lift the Maybank Malaysian Open title in 2010 before going on to win the prestigious Order of Merit crown at the age of 19 years and 204 days.

Since then, Noh has successfully plied his trade on the PGA Tour where he won his first title at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April.

“I enjoyed a great career on the Asian Tour and winning the Order of Merit opened many doors for me. I’m excited to return to Asia because I’ve got fond memories there. There are many talented players on the Asian Tour and it will be a big challenge to win in Chiangmai,” said Noh.

“The Asian Tour gave me the opportunity to develop my game and provided me with the platform to go on and play on the PGA Tour. I look forward to meeting old friends and hopefully contend for the title in Chiangmai,” added the Korean.

The Chiangmai Golf Classic will promote Chiangmai as a leading golfing and tourist destination through the four days of live broadcasts on the Asian Tour’s global television platform, which reaches over 180 countries and 625 million homes.

The Alpine Golf Resort Chiangmai, designed by Ron M. Garl, is located in a valley between mountain ranges in the heart of the San Kampaeng natural forests and boasts of natural beauty.
