Sanna Khanh Hoa FC kept their hopes of a place in the next round of the AFF Bangkok Futsal Club Championship 2015 alive with an exhilarating 1-1 draw against tournament favourites Thaiport.

The Vietnamese side who needed to avoid a loss to make sure that they have a fighting chance of a place in the final day of competition on Sunday, were disciplined in the defence as they frustrated Thaiport for long periods.

But neither Jetsada Chudech nor Marcos De Mendonca could make headway in way of finding the back of the Sanna net where in turn, it was the Vietnam side who grabbed the well-deserved 1-0 lead at the break.

Off a quick counter in the 20th minute, Khong Dinh Hung ran in with the ball before slotting it under Thaiport keeper Kanison Phoopan, much to the chagrin of the few hundred fans at the stand.

Into the second half, Sanna Khanh Hoa continued to be under pressure as they committed a handful of fouls before Thaiport brought in their power play. And it worked.

With two minutes left on the clock, a well-timed cross from Pornmongkol Sursubseang allowed Marcos to slam in the goal for the equaliser.

IN THE MEANTINE, Felda United men’s team paid the price of being over-confident when they were held to a 2-2 draw by MIC FC.

Naing Ye Kyaw gave MIC a confident-boosting 1-0 lead at the half with a strike just before the end of the first half.

But an own goal from Khin Zaw Lim in the 32nd minute gave the Malaysians a lifeline as Htet Myat Naing then restored the advantage with a 33rd minute effort.

However, Abu Naniffa Ab Hassan finally delivered the goal for Felda with the equaliser a minute later.
