# Nominating a failed leader is itself embarassing

# Annuar cannot even guarantee Kelantan’s participation in the M-League

# Many questions left unanswered by seeking FAM president’s post

Tan Sri Annuar Musa has become the joke of Malaysian football fraternity for throwing in his nomination to be the next FA of Malaysia (FAM) president – more so when he has ran away from shouldering Kelantan FA’s (KAFA) financial woes.

Annuar, a former Sports Minister quit as KAFA president last month and the East Coast powerhouse are on the verge of pulling out from next year’s M-League due to lack of sponsors.

And KAFA made a mockery of the whole issue by giving Annuar the backing for the top post in the national body instead of focusing on pressing matters like getting sponsors for the Red Warriors and paying overdue salaries to the players.

Thursday’s extraordinary congress held in Kota Bahru was supposed to decide on Kelantan’s fate in the M-League but instead Annuar’s nomination for the top FAM post took the limelight.

There seems to be lack of urgency on the part of the KAFA in deciding the team’s participation in the M-League. KAFA have got all their priorities wrong and seem to be dragging their feet over their football team.

Annuar left KAFA in a lurch when he was counted upon to lead the association to sort out the financial mess. By abandoning the Red Warriors he probably has a hidden agenda for bigger things.

One wonders why Annuar failed to settle the salary arrears when sponsors came on board last year and years before last? What happened to the gate collections from the huge fan support Kelantan get when playing matches at home?

Is there a hidden agenda by Annuar and KAFA for giving priority to the FAM president’s post currently held by Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah?

If Annuar cannot even solve his homestate’s financial woes can he handle bigger things at national level?

Recently Annuar told players to take a “pay cut” during a gathering in Kota Bahru? Many term it as an uncalled for statement from a public figure who helms a major GLC and is still very much into politics.

“In the first place are you ready to take a pay cut Annuar?,” say some of the hardcore fans of the Red Warriors.

Others called on Annuar to stop his “sandiwara” for his personal agenda but help KAFA out of the present predicament if he really loves his state and the game for the sake of the people of Kelantan.

KAFA acting president Datuk Seri Afandi Hamzah, chaired the extra-ordinary congress on Thursday and announced Annuar’s nomination for the FAM post.

For now it is a real joke for Annuar to be nominated for the FAM president’s post.
