THE Water Sports Complex in Presint 6, Putrajaya, venue for open swimming, waterski  and wakeboard and triathlon, receives the nod from Malaysian contingent chef de mission Datuk Marina Chin.

The former track queen, on her routine rounds to check on venues and thenational athletes, gave her thumbs up after a visit to the venue, where 15 gold medals will be contested in three sports.

“From what we observed, this venue gets deserves full marks for its excellent facilities and it is my fervent hope that our athletes give their best performance in the chase for medals,” said Datuk Marina.

“We’ve conducted a trial run during the last month’s Pre-SEA Games Women’s Water-Ski Championship and there were no hiccups. Everything went on smoothly and this venue is ready to receive athletes,” she added.

The Putrajaya Water Sports Complex was recently handed over to the Malaysian Organising Committee (MASOC) Kuala Lumpur 2017

“Our young athletes are highly motivated especially Aiden Yoong Hanifah and Adam Yoong Hanifah, not forgetting the other members of the team whom I met today,” said the former track queen.

Waterski and wakeboard, which offers the biggest number of 11 gold medals, will commence from 25th August while Open water swimming (2 gold) and triathlon will be held on 18 and 21 August respectively.

SUKAN AIR: CDM PUJI VENUE DI PUTRAJAYA

KOMPLEKS Sukan Air di Presint 6, Putrajaya, venue bagi renang terbuka, luncur air dan wake board dan Triatlon,  mendapat pujian daripada Chef de Mission Malaysia Datuk Marina Chin.

Bekas ratu trek itu, dalam tinjauannya ke venue-venue selain berjumpa para atlet negara, memberi pujian itu selepas melawat Kompleks Sukan Air itu yang mana 15 pingat emas dipertandingkan bagi tiga acara sukan berkenaan.

“Daripada apa yang kita perhatikan, venue ini amat baik kerana kemudahan yang lengkap untuk membolehkan para atlet kita mempamerkan persembahan,” kata Datuk Marina.

“Kita telah menjalankan ujian pada Kejohanan Pra Sukan SEA Luncur Air bulan lepas dan tiada apa-apa kekurangan. Semuanya berjalan lancar dan venue ini bersedia untuk menerima para atlet,” katanya.

“Para atlet muda kita bermotivasi tinggi terutamanya Aiden Yoong Hanifah dan  Adam Yoong Hanifah, serta tidak lupa juga semua anggota pasukan yang telah saya temui,” kata Datuk Marina.

Acara luncur air dan wakeboard, yang menawarkan 11 pingat emas, akan bermula 25 Ogos manakala  Renang Terbuka (2 emas) dan Triatlon masing-masing pada 18 dan 21 Ogos.
