F1 is taken to Sweden and Denmark in an epic trip where David Coulthard drives an F1 car to incredible locations, surprising unsuspecting fans.
More than 50 years ago, the Scandinavian Grand Prix laid the foundations for the love of F1 in Sweden, Denmark and the Northern region. With a plan to race a modern F1 car throughout Scandinavia to re-ignite the love for the sport in a celebration of history, culture, racing heroes and pop culture, F1 legend David Coulthardâs route and activities were suggested by local fans and featured in new content. The content sees former F1 driver and Red Bull ambassador David Coulthard travel to Sweden and Denmark to surprise the unsuspecting local fans. Besides the well-known urban landscapes of capital cities Stockholm and Copenhagen, the F1 car travels to Scandinavian Raceway where Swedish Grand Prix races were held back in the 70âs. David becomes the first professional F1 driver to take to the track in 45 years, honouring the local motorsports legacy. The tour also sees some rallycross action disrupting the idyllic serenity of the Swedish countryside, with David taking on the rallycross sibling duo, Timmy and Kevin Hansen, on rural roads. In Denmark, the F1 car competes against an aerobatic helicopter in a music video set-up by the most streamed local rapper Lamin. In addition to that, David went to the capital city of Copenhagen only to find himself swarmed by the bicycles that the city is very much known for. There is another blast from the past when David and the RB7 join the forces of the mighty Vikings â relentless maritime explorers of Northern Europe. Former F1 driver and Red Bull ambassador David Coulthard says, âThereâs a rich Formula One history in Scandinavia, so it seemed like those times when the European element of the World Championships was a much bigger part of F1. Some of the iconic cars and names from my childhood and before were competing in that part of the world at the time so it was fantastic to have the opportunity to film this project there. Acknowledging the past while building on the future. Looking back to some of the things we have done, whether it was driving in Petra or being on top of Burj Al Arab â weâve taken the car to people. So, filming this project in Scandinavia with the huge motorsports fanbase that they have, with many successful drivers as well, not only single seaters but also rally, was greatâ. |
