Dato’ Radha Krishnan, the Deputy President of the Malaysian Aesthetic Group Gymnastic Association (MAGGA), has officially announced that Malaysia will host the next Aesthetics Group Gymnastics World Cup here in Kuala Lumpur in 2020.

This unprecedented news came after 2 MAGGA representatives left for Spain last week to submit the bid to the world governing body, International Federation of Aesthetic Group Gymnastics or IFAGG.

“I’m extremely pleased to make this announcement because having received this honor after only a few years of developing the sport in Malaysia is truly an accomplishment.

What comes as a greater honor is winning this bid after a close fight with countries Estonia and France, who have been developing this sport for a longer period,” said Dato Radha.

He add, “Malaysia will now play host to 30 countries around the world and over 1500 participants. This is a testament of our promise to promote sports tourism through this wonderful sport.

I will give my own personal assurance that we will make Malaysia proud and will strive to do a great job in organizing a world class sporting event in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020 next year,”.

Last week, MAGGA presented performance incentives to their Malaysian contingent who brought home 2 Golds, 2 Silvers and 1 bronze medal after participating in the world championships held in Singapore last month. Over 800 participants from 20 countries participated.
