Liberian international Forkey Doe destroyed his former team Selangor with a brace as Felda United snatched a 2-1 win over the Red Giants in Tuesday’s Super League match at the Shah Alam Stadium.

With the win The Fighters kept their league title hopes alive with 37 points from 15 matches on a night when defending champions Johor Darul Takzim scored a 1-0 win over Kelantan at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Bahru.

The Southern Tigers got the winner through their Argentine ace Jorge Pereyra Diaz who headed home a cross from former Pahang player Azamuddin Akil in the first minute of the second half.

Until then national goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat kept the homesters at bay with some good reflex saves and some help from the woodwork.

Felda United head coach Irfan Bakti described his team’s win as “sweet win” but in the same breath was quick to point out that “with seven more matches to go anything in happen” in the title chase.

Forkey Doe got his first in the third minute and his second in the 71st with Selangor pulling one back in between through an opportunist goal through Patrick Ronaldinho in the 63rd minute after the Felda keeper fumbled with the ball.

The two bottom placed teams – Penang and Sarawak – also won their respective matches against Kedah and T-Team.

The Panthers stunned a 10-man Kedah side 3-2 at the City Stadium – riding on a brace from their Korean hitman Jeon Seok-min in the 24th and 36th minutes with Mathias Cardoba getting the third in the 46th minute.

Kedah’s Kosova striker Liridon Krasniqi opened scoring for the Red Eagles in the 10th minute but was red carded in the 74th minute just before Thiago Fernandes reduced the deficit for the visitors.

Sarawak came back from a goal down to snatch a 2-1 win at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu. The Titans grabbed the lead after 15 minutes through Patrick Dos Santos.

The Crocs got the equaliser through Australian, former Felda player Makeche Ndumba in the 42nd minute before former Kelantan player Gilmar Filho converted a penalty on 48 minute for the winner.

Pahang football continued its plunge with a 2-1 defeat to Perak at the Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan. New Albanian signing Xhevahir Sukaj hit a double with goals in the 28th and 74th minutes. Jailton de Campos got Pahang’s consolation goal in the 31st minute.
