Phong Phu Ha Nam picked up their first ever National Women’s Football Cup when Vu Thi Thuy fired them past Hanoi 1-0 in the final.
Playing against their better rated hosts, Ha Nam played to their strength where they defended in numbers and were always looking for the opportunity for a quick counter.
Following a first half deadlock, Thi Thuy picked up the pass from Nguyen Th? Tuyet Dung in the 61st minute to slot the ball home.
For their effort, Han Nam picked up the VND 100 million (USD 4,300) purse.
In the meantime, TNG Thai Nguyen beat Son La 2-1 to take the third spot in the championship this year.
