nila.seag.2015* Thor Chuan Leong and Moh Keen Hoo take doubles gold

* Second gold for Chuan Leong

The Negara Ku was heard loud and clear at the OCBC Arena for the second time in three days when Malaysia clinched the men’s snooker doubles gold medal on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Thailand’s Krirsanut Lertsatttayatthor and Ratchayothin Yotharuck in the final.

The Malaysians lost the first frame 0-76 but got back into the picture 49-36 win the second. That was all the Chuan Leong and Keen Hoo needed to lift their morale and boost their confidence and won the third  (113-1) and fourth 66-19) to pocket the gold in the best of five frames

For Chuan Leng it was simply “fantastic” to win his second gold medal after his 4-2 triumph over Myanmar’s Ko Htet in the men’s snooker singles final on Monday.

The win by the doubles pair also meant Chuan Leong became the first Malaysian to win a double in 20 years after Sam Chong achieved the feat in 1995 in Chiangmai.
