Despite leading the Malaysian team to their second final in three editions of the AFF Suzuki Cup, there is no guarantee that Tan Cheng Hoe will remain in the hot seat of Harimau Malaya.

Cheng Hoe’s KPI (key performance index) was set by the Technical Committee of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) in which he has to “at least reach the AFF Suzuki Cup final” which was duly achieved.

Vietnam beat Malaysia 3-2 on aggregate to lift their second crown since 2008.

“The Technical Committee will meet very soon to discuss Cheng Hoe’s position,” quipped FAM General Secretary Stuart Ramalingam.

En-route to the final, Cheng Hoe led the Malaysians past defending champions and hot favorites Thailand while also broke attendance record at the last three of their matches in Kuala Lumpur.

More than 80,000 came for each of their matches at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil when Malaysia took on Myanmar (last game in Group A), Thailand (first leg semi-final) and also Vietnam (first leg final).
