Did you know that over 8,000 tonnes of bananas will be consumed at the Standard Chartered KL Marathon, that is equivalent to the weight of 7 Honda City cars?In addition,over 64,000litres of water and 17,000 litres of isotonic drinks will be served to all runners at the Marathon.
These are some of the fun facts that were shared by Rainer Biemans, Race Owner and Organiser of the Standard Chartered KL Marathon and Director of Dirigo Events, in a presentation with the Marathonās official sponsors, partners, suppliers and the media at the Pacific Regency hotel.
Biemans also updated the guests on the final number of participants. The Standard Chartered KL Marathon will see 35,000 runners competing across various categories. The most popular category will come from the MSIG 10 km with 15,000 runners taking part. Meanwhile, the Full Marathon and the Honda Half Marathon category has seen an increase by 27% and 9% respectively in participation from last year.

We know the Standard Chartered KL Marathon holds a special place with the runners, and it has garnered a lot of interest within the community.
