Putrajaya, 30th November 2017 : The Malaysian Book of Recordsrecognised event ‘Konvoi Berbasikal Wanita 2018’ (KBW2018) returns for its’ second edition, this time aiming for another record-breaking feat.

The event is scheduled to be held in conjuction with International Women’s Day, on 10th March at Dataran Putrajaya.

The event was officially launched today byYang Berbahagia Datin Seri Utama Anggraini Sentiyaki, Wife of  Minister of the Federal Territories and Patron of Badan Amal Kasih Ibu Wilayah Persekutuan and Yang Berbahagia Datuk Mohd Rahimi Rejab, advisor for KBW2018 who is also the senior private secretary for Minister of the Federal Territories, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

“Earlier this year our event was recognised by the Malaysian Book of Records where a total number of 11,412 women participants were recorded, we are aiming to break that record next year with 12,000. So to women of all ages please gather your friends, colleagues, family and come and join the fun!” announced Datuk Mohd Rahimi.

Local celebrities Vanidah Imran, Linda Onn, Serina Redzuawan, Maznah Zolkifli, Sharifah Haslinda, Betty Banafe dan Zahida Rafik, while international participants from Australia, Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore also joined the convoy this year, making the event more vibrant and cheerful.

“We are looking forward to providing a memorable experience for everyone and hope a larger number will turn upto take part in this time.

“Putrajaya is a great place to cycle, it has the complete facilities rquired and the road conditions are perfect to ensure a smooth and accident-free event.

“We would like to thank everyone concerned who worked hard to make next year’s event what it is shaping up to be.” he added.

The event tagline ‘Inilah Kuasa Wanita’ (This is the Power of Women) will once again be the main theme. The event hopes to empower women by encouraging them to live a balanced and healthy lifestyle, gather women throughout Malaysia and creating a harmonious and united atmosphere among women.

Cyclists will have two options, either the 10km or 25km route and flag off will be at 7am on Dataran Putrajaya in Precinct 3. Besides the ride, 1000 lucky draw prizes will also be up for grabs.

‘Konvoi Berbasikal Wanita 2018’ is organised by Badan Kasih Amal Ibu Wilayah Persekutuan and supported by the Ministry of Federal Territories, Perbadanan Putrajaya, Putrajaya Cycling Association, Yayasan Kesejahteraan Bandar.

Supported by the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Tourism Malaysia. Assisted by Cycling clubs around Malaysia, with the support of corporate companies Multigreen Events Sdn Bhd and Warisan Ad Sdn Bhd.
