As part of their preparation for the year-end SEA Games which they will be hosting, the Philippines will be sending their Under-22 team for the Merlion Cup which will be held in Singapore in June.

The Philippines Football Federation (PFF), through President Nonong Araneta, fresh from receiving a second mandate as member of the powerful FIFA Council, said the U22 will need more international exposure.

“We’re joining the Merlion Cup for the U22 and we can always do the (training) camp in Qatar in preparation for the SEA Games,” said Araneta.

The Philippines’ U22 team will be competing at the SEA Games at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
