Striker Mike Ott has been roped in by Philippines head coach Thomas Dooley to provide additional firepower for the team’s friendlies which begins tomorrow.
The Philippines will take on Bahrain tomorrow at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila before playing North Korea on 10 October.
Ott is the younger brother of Manuel Ott with the 21-year-old having played with several youth squads in Germany and where he is currently a player of the second team of 1. FC Nurnberg in the Regionalliga Bayern.
“Javier (Patino) is not available in October and Mike is playing that position. It will be good time to see him a little bit in the next two games,” said Dooley.
tHowever, Dooley pointed out there is still no certainty that Ott will be available for the AFF Suzuki Cup next month.
