Robert Rene Alberts is not going anywhere anytime soon after he was tied up by PSM Makassar for a further four years after he recently led the team to a respectable third position in Liga 1 in his first year in charge.

The Dutch tactician, who is just as famous in neighbouring Malaysia and Singapore, was confirmed as the head coach of ambitious PSM Makassar for the next four years by the club’s Chief Executive Officer Munafri Arifuddin.

“Why (four year)? It is because we are looking at the long term with the current set of young players that we have will still be with us for the next four years,” said Munafri.

“That’s the plan. To keep these young players with us and play for the long term.”

Other than the contract extension for Alberts, superstar Willem Jan Pluim will also be staying with the team until 2021 – after his contract was extended for a further three years from 2018.
