Following the MoU signed this evening at the Rudy Project store in Jaya Shopping Centre here, all eyewear worn by the newly launched DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team as well as SIC’s personnel will be sponsored by the Italian brand. In Malaysia, distribution rights for the brand are held by YCS Capital Sdn Bhd.

Petaling Jaya – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rudy Project, a leader in sports eyewear, as its official eyewear supplier. Following the MoU signed this evening at the Rudy Project store in Jaya Shopping Centre here, all eyewear worn by the newly launched DRIVE M7 SIC Racing Team as well as SIC’s personnel will be sponsored by the Italian brand. In Malaysia, distribution rights for the brand are held by YCS Capital Sdn Bhd.

They are a well-known brand used by champions in many sports and I believe that the eyewear will make training and working in Sepang more comfortable amidst the glare and variable lighting conditions around the clock, for the riders and all our personnel. Additionally, the eyewear can help them adapt more easily to the different light conditions in various countries at different times of the year, as they travel the world with the new Drive M7 SIC Racing Team this year and perhaps even beyond,” said SIC CEO, Dato’ Razlan Razali.

The Drive M7 SIC Racing Team, which will make its debut on 29 March 2015 in the season-opening MotoGP race in Qatar in the Moto3 category, features Malaysian favourite Zulfahmi Khairuddin and Czech rider Jakub Kornfeil, led by experienced team manager Johan Stigefelt.

As part of the collaboration, Rudy Project will be available in SIC throughout the week of the Formula 1 season at SIC’s merchandise stores. SIC is also looking forward to having the brand its major events including the eni FIM Superbike World Championship 2015 and the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix 2015.

Rudy Project, founded in Treviso in Italy’s Veneto region in 1985, produces and distributes eyewear including technical sunglasses, rx sunglasses and ski goggles as well as masks and helmets of the highest technical level. The established brand was founded with the aim of improving the performance levels of athletes worldwide.
