# Kuala Lumpur hammer Kelantan 5-1 in Cheras

It was bad away trips for Perak and Pahang as the two teams fell to defeats to Terengganu and Kedah respectively in Tuesday’s second round Super League matches.

Terengganu celebrated full points at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu – a win that made up for their heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to Perak at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on May 6.

Ivory Coast striker Kipre Tchetche was the toast of the Turtles with a brace – scoring a goal in each half. The first came via a penalty on 44 minutes as the Terengganu skipper made no mistake from the spot after J. Partiban was felled by Rafiuddin Roddin inside the box.

Perak’s national custodian Hafizul Hakim Khairul Nizam was beaten again in the  51st minute. This time Tchetche sent his second attempt back into the net after his first was blocked by a defender’s leg during a goalmouth melee from a corner kick.

Kedah also turned the tide into their favour at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar after Baddrol Bakhtiar fired home a well-executed free kick, awarded when Pahang skipper Matthew Davies fell Andik Vermansyah.

Kosovo playmaker Liridon Krasniqi scored the second on 88 minutes from a counter attack. The first round match in Kuantan ended in a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, it was also a bad away trip for Kelantan. The Red Warriors’ miserable run in the Super League continued with a 5-1 mauling by Kuala Lumpur at the KLFA Stadium in Cheras.

The first round match ended with a 4-2 win for Kelantan in Kota Bahru. – RIZAL ABDULLAH
