The Thai Futsal team scored an inspiring 2-1 win over Japan in a friendly that was played yesterday at the City Hall Plaza City in Niigata, Japan.

In front of a sell-out crowd, Thailand grabbed the opener after eleven minutes off a corner from Kritsada Wongkaew that was slotted home by Jirawat Sornwichian.

Japan almost equalized at the end of the first half but after being set up by Tomo Yoshikawa, the waiting Akira Minamoto missed his target.

Thialdn then doubled their advantage at the half-hour mark with Apiwat Chaemcharoen delivering the corner and this time for Jetsada Chudet to finish.

Japan then took to power play and while they created a handful of chances, it was not until the very last minute of play that Kato Minami finally carved out their first goal of the game.

By then, it was already too late for Japan to salvage a draw.

The second friendly will be played tomorrow at the Deva Ocean Arena in Aichi Prefecture.
