Vietnam overcame Laos 2-0 at the New National Stadium in Vientiane to keep the pressure at the top of Group F on the penultimate matchday of the third round qualifiers of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 tonight.

After a first-half deadlock, Nguyễn Xuân Son gave the visiting Vietnam side the lead with a 67th minute penalty before Phạm Tuấn Hải then added the second right at the end (90th+2).

The win gave Vietnam 12 points from five matches played – just three behind Malaysia heading into the final group game in March 2026.
