Malaysia suffered a heavy defeat against India, losing to the Asian powerhouse 9-1 in the Junior Women’s Asia Cup 2015 in Wujin, China.

The Mighty Princesses fielded a relatively under-strength side, with captain Surizan Awang Noh as well as first-choice defenders Nor Aisyah binti Yaakob and Nor Syafiqah Moh Zain ruled out of the match due to injuries

“We held the Indians in the first half. They were much better than us technically, but we kept to the game plan. However, in the second half, we lost focus. Three quick goals from India, inflating the scoreline almost instantaneously, left the players demotivated”, Head Coach Lailin Abu Hassan lamented.

“There are several areas we need to work on, before our placing match against Thailand (tomorrow, 16.15). We need to analyse our team as well our opponents to know what tactics to employ that will best serve the match”, he said adding that they will go all out to win the match.
