The decision to name the Indian capital as host city for the prestigious event was ratified by the AFC’s newly elected Executive Committee during a meeting in the Bahraini capital of Manama on Saturday.

Commenting on the prospect of India as a venue for the Annual Awards, AFC President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa said: “The AFC is delighted to take the Annual Awards to New Delhi, India this year.

“India is a country where football is developing fast, and it is the ideal place to bring the whole Asian football family together.”

The AFC’s 2014 Annual Awards, in conjunction with the Confederation’s 60th Anniversary celebrations, were held in the Philippine capital of Manila to wide critical acclaim.
