National women’s elite shooter Bibiana Ng Pei Chin is eyeing to take part in her ninth SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur this August.
The Sarawak-born athlete, who began her journey in the 1997 SEA Games in Indonesia, said she would be thrilled to have the opportunity to get a gold medal for the country in the Games if given the green light by national head coach Park Sang-soon.
Bibiana won three gold medals for the country when Malaysia hosted the SEA Games in 2001.
“I hope I’ll get to represent the country again, although I’m aware of the stiff competition from several other shooters, especially the younger ones who also want to take part in the SEA Games this August,” said Bibiana, who is also a police officer.
Bibiana said this when met by Bernama during the 41st SEASA Shooting Championship at the Subang Shooting Range, here yesterday.
Earlier, she had won the gold medal along with teammates Alia Sazana Azahari and Siti Nur Masitah Mohd Badrin in the women’s team 25m pistol event with 1,722 points, while Singapore finished second and Vietnam came in third. – BERNAMA
