AIRMARINE (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD – a leading logistics company – has stepped in to develop and present the AIRMARINE Cup 2019 between 20 and 23 March at the National Stadium in KL Sports City.
The tournament’s first edition will feature the national teams of hosts Malaysia, Singapore, Oman and Solomon Islands which will correspond with the official FIFA International match calendar.
The AIRMARINE Cup 2019 aims to be a tournament that delivers a competitive platform for national squads during the international break to gain the necessary exposure and ranking points to advance in the international football scene.
In line with FA of Malaysia’s (FAM) 12-year roadmap-named F:30, which focuses on the national team reaching greater heights beginning in Asia, the AIRMARINE Cup 2019 can be the perfect foundation laid for the rest of the long-term blueprint.
“This tournament can be a continuation to the recent good showing by our National team namely during the AFF Suzuki Cup last year and could prove crucial in regard to kickstart FAM’s effort in embarking a comprehensive development plan towards making Malaysia a reputable footballing nation,” said FAM Deputy President Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff Mahadi.
“It is the duty of a governing football body to improve the national team’s performance and achievements. It is, however, not the usual responsibility of a corporate entity to step forward and help out with this important national cause. This is the exact commitment of the Executive Chairman of AIRMARINE (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD., Dato’ Ananth S. Nathan, through the AIRMARINE Cup,” said Julian Kam, the Chief Executive Officer of ProEvents Sdn. Bhd., which is promoting the tournament.
