“My record against Lin Dan certainly does not favour me but it does not matter whom I play in the semifinals tomorrow. I will treattomorrow’s game as a final,” said Chong Wei who had spoken to the media before the Lin Dan-Jorgensen tie.

Asked if his wife would be attending tomorrow’s match, Chong Wei said she was unable to travel yet. “She will surely be watching me on TV.”

On today’s match, Chong Wei explained that while he had encountered Hu Yun in the past, the player on court today played a different game. “Just look at the way he walked, he was more aggressive and committed than previously where he was more easy going.”

Chong Wei took to the court immediately after Malaysian women’s doubles pair of Amelia Alicia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho crashed out to Indonesia’s Nitya Krishinda Maheswari-Greysia Polii.

Yesterday, Amelia and Soong hit the headlines when they stunned world champions however, any hopes of another smashing performance did not happen. In front of a large crowd at the Istora Senayan today, the Malaysians imploded, probably due to the pressure and the huge crowd supporting the hosts.
