The Morodok Techo National Stadium in northern Phnom Penh will be ready to be handed over by the end of 2020.

The main stadium – which is being prepared for the SEA Games which Cambodia will host in 2023 – has been under construction for over 16 months.

When complete, it is able to accommodate 75,000 spectators.

The stadium cost of USD 160 million is part of an aid from China where it formed part of the whole complex costing a total cost of USD 200 million.

Phase 1 was completed last year with the aquatic centre and also sporting centres been completed.

Cambodia are set to host the 2023 SEA Games with the government planning to spend up to USD 400 million to organise the event.
