# Guerra brace give champions JDT 2-0 win in Kuching

# N. Sembilan win to stay top in 100PLUS Premier League

Defending champions Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) rode on Argentine striker Gabriel Guerra’s brace for a 2-0 win over Sarawak in Tuesday’s Super League match at the State Stadium in Kuching.

Guerra struck as early as the ninth minute and added his second on 70 minutes for JDT’s fourth win in six matches which gave the Southern Tigers 11 points and third place on goal difference.

However, Pahang are the new leaders of the 12-team league with 14 points – two more than Kedah, who have a game in hand over the Elephants. Kedah play Selangor at the Selayang Municipal Stadium later tonight.

Pahang defeated Selangor club side PKNS FC 3-0 at the Darulaman Stadium in Kuantan – their fifth win in seven matches and the East Coast side have signaled a strong challenge for honours this season under coach Dollah Salleh.

Afif Amiruddin opened scoring for the homesters in the 12th minute before Brazilian Matheus Alves scored from the spot after 58 minutes for their second goal.

Former national striker Ashaari Shamsuddin completed the scoring for Pahang with the third goal in the 69th minute.

Meanwhile, in the 100PLUS Premier League leaders Negri Sembilan kept their winning ways to register their sixth win out of six matches – to remain on top with 18 points. Negri also have a game in hand over second placed Terengganu who beat Perlis 2-1 in Kangar for 15 points.

Newcomers Perak State Economic Development Corporation (PKNP) are in thrid place with 14 points with another impressive performance to hold JDT II to a 1-1 draw at the Pasir Gudang Stadium.

In other matches in the Premier League Police snatched a 5-4 win over Armed Forces while Sabah suffered another embarassing home defeat – this time going down to UiTM FC 3-2 at the Likas Stadium.

It was Sabah’s fifth defeat in six matches and are second from the bottom with only three points – one more than Perlis who are entrenched at the bottom of the table with only two points.

Kuala Lumpur edged Kuantan FA 2-1 at home in another match.
