Prachuap FC picked up their first-ever major silverware when they beat favourites Buriram United 8-7 in the penalty shootout of the Toyota League Cup final that was held at the SCG Stadium last night.

The score at the end of regulation was 1-1 where after a tight first half, it was Prachuap who went ahead just after the restart when Siriroch Chattong capitalised on Buriram’s mixed up backline for Maurinho to have the easiest of finish from the edge of the box.

But Buriram young strike pair fought back in the 72nd minute when Sasalak Haiprakhon found space for Supachai Jaided to head home the equaliser.

With the extra time still unable to conjure a winner, the penalty shootout saw both teams locked at 7-7 before Buriram’s Korrakot Wiriyaudomsiri missed from the spot as Seeket Madputeh then confirmed the win for Prachuap.
