There were more rewards for the Malaysian Olympians this week – this time from the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM).
Each silver medallists received RM10,000 while bronze medalists earned RM5,000 from Sports TOTO.
“Every Malaysian athletes that participated at the recent Olympic Games in Rio did so with the nation in mind and not for monetary gain,” said OCM President, Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar.
“And the result was they brought back four silver medals and one bronze medal. For their success, we are proud to induct them into the OCM Hall of Fame together with other greats who not only have made the country proud but also created history.
“We hope to produce and achieve better results in Tokyo in 2020.,” he said.
Added Sports Toto’s Giam Say Khoon: “Sports Toto would continue to contribute to OCM with the hope of encouraging and producing more and better athletes for the future.”
