Selangor, the 2015 Malaysia Cup champions, are determined to wrest the Super League title from defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) this season.

With only a week to go before the Malaysia League (M-League) gets underway, The Red Warriors have sounded an early warning to the other teams in the Super League.

Team manager, Amirudin Shari said the main target of the squad was to retain the Malaysia Cup, seize the Super League title and show an inspiring performance in the AFC Cup competition.

“In terms of preparation, focus is not only given to training, but also on controlling the mentality and psychology of the players to wade through the challenges of professional football. Based on the series of friendly matches and visit to Thailand, we have identified several loopholes and regular mistakes, which we will repair in this one week.

“With the quality that Selangor has, I believe if the players concentrate fully, there should not be a problem to meet our target,” he told reporters after a ceremony to introduce the players of the Super League squad at the SACC Mall here today.
