Malaysia grabbed their fifth gold medal in the 30th Sea Games in the Philippines through wushu exponent Loh Choon How – his second in two days after the official opening of the biennial games on Saturday.

Choon How overcame back pain to garner 9.68 points to take the gold in the men’s taijiquan event.  The silver went to the host nation with Jones Inso Llabres clinching the second spot with 9.65 total while Brunei’s Hosea Wong Zheng Yu (9.60) settled for the bronze.

The 26-year-old Malaysian won the first gold of the games for Malaysia on Sunday when he came out tops in the taijiquan.

”No words can describe how I feel winning the second gold. I am happy and proud to have contributed to another gold for my country. I wish to thank my coach, team officials, fans and supporters for making it happen,” said a delighted Choon How.- BY RIZAL ABDULLAH
