Vietnam national No. 1 Dang Van Lam has signed for Thai League 1 side Muangthong United FC.

The Vietnam-Russian custodian was an integral figure to Vietnam’s march to their second AFF Suzuki Cup title recently.

Muangthong paid a transfer fee of VND3 billion (USD 130,000) to Vietnam club Hai Phong FC.

The three-year deal will see Van Lam getting USD 10,000 a month. The club will also provide him with an apartment and a car.

“After the AFF Cup success, I receive people’s attention and support as well as favourable conditions if I keep playing in Vietnam. But I don’t want to stay in the ‘safe zone’, I want to face with challenges to have new experiences in my career,” Lam told zing.vn
