BRUNEI SEA Games delegation on Monday (5 June 2017) visited some of the venues to prepare the contingent for the upcoming Kuala Lumpur 2017 Games in August.

The 12-member delegation, led by High Commissioner H.E. Dato Paduka Hj. Alaihuddin Mohamad Taha, were given a tour of two of the Games venues – the Equestrian Park in Putrajaya and the National Stadium at the KL Sports City in Bukit Jalil.

The delegates were briefed and had a closer look at the development and upgrading work as well as facilities at the venues.

“Basically we’re here to get familiarised as well as checking the facilities at venues that will be used for the SEA Games.  We wanted to be sure that the facilities were all provided,” said Dato Hj. Alaihuddin Mohamad Taha.

Brunei, host of the 20th SEA Games in 1999, is expected to send a contingent of 273 athletes and officials for the KL Games from 19-30th August.

The 29th SEA Games, the sixth to be hosted by Malaysia, will see the participation of more than 7,000 athletes and officials with 38 sports and 405 events to be contested.

KL2017: DELEGASI BRUNEI TINJAU VENUE SUKAN SEA

DELEGASI Sukan SEA Brunei pada Isnin (5 Jun 2017) melawat beberapa venue bagi memastikan tahap persiapan menjelang bermulanya Sukan SEA 2017 pada Ogos ini. 

Delegasi 12 anggota yang diketuai Pesuruhjaya Tinggi TYT Dato Paduka Hj. Alaihuddin Mohamad Taha, melawat dua venue di Taman Ekuestrian di Putrajaya dan Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil di KL Sports City dan diberi taklimat mengenai persiapan dan kerja-kerja naiktaraf di venue berkenaan. 

“Kami hadir bagi meninjau tahap persiapan tuan rumah setakat ini selain mahu memastikan keperluan yang cukup untuk kontinjen Brunei sepanjang berlangsungnya Sukan SEA nanti,” kata TYT Dato Paduka Hj. Alaihuddin Mohamad Taha.

Brunei, yang pernah menjadi tuan rumah Sukan SEA ke-20 pada 1999, dijangka menghantar kontinjen seramai 273 atlet dan pegawai ke temasya Kuala Lumpur 2017 nanti. 

Sukan SEA ke-29 dari 19-30 Ogos ini, kali keenam dianjurkan di Malaysia, akan menyaksikan penyertaan lebih 7,000 atlet dan pegawai dengan 38 sukan dan 405 acara akan dipertandingkan.
