The AFC Solidarity Cup opens tomorrow with Brunei taking on Timor Leste in a Group A opener at the Sarawak Stadium.

The Sultanate side, now led by Kwon Oh-son as the head coach, will be looking to do the double against Timor after beating the same side in the qualifying round of the AFF Suzuki Cup last month in Cambodia.

The other team in Group A is Nepal, whom they will be playing on 8 November.

“We need to take every game as serious as a final to improve our chances of qualification (to the semi-finals) and beyond that. We have to put 110 to 120 per cent for every game,” said Oh-son.

“There are only two matches in our group, and to qualify, we need one win and one draw — for safety reasons.

“There is plenty of recovery time after the Timor Leste game and it is important for the players to give it their all in every match.”

Group B are Sri Lanka, Macau, Mongolia and Laos.
