Craft-Bamboo Racing has arrived in Russia and is ready to contest the fifth round of the series at Moscow Raceway. Gregoiré Demoustier is focused on adding to his growing collection of Yokohama Driver’s Trophy points this weekend and with prior knowledge of the circuit gleaned from his GT career; he will be using this advantage to help challenge his fellow independent drivers. With every passing round, Demoustier gains ever more valuable seat time in the car and continues to develop his performance over his rookie season in the WTCC.

The young driver impressed at the Nürburgring Nordschleife recently where he completed both races without incident and fought hard with typical French flair in battles with other drivers. Now that the WTCC returns to a more conventional circuit design than the one experienced at the Eifel Mountains in Germany, Demoustier can continue his Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy charge.

During the short break between the race of Germany and the upcoming round in Russia, the team has been working incredibly hard to re-prep Demoustier’s Chevrolet Cruze, bringing the car back to top condition. An engine change was also required after the Nürburgring torture test, which will unfortunately see young Demoustier take on a penalty this weekend and be forced to start further down the grid. The team has undertaken a great deal of work since the last round and has done a stellar job with each individual task being completed to the highest degree of accuracy and in a timely fashion.

The ultra-modern Russian circuit was built in 2012 and has been a regular feature in the WTCC calendar since 2013. The 3.931-km circuit boasts a technical layout, penned by F1 circuit maestro Hermann Tilke and will provide Russian spectators with a healthy dose of touring car action.

The fifth round of the FIA World Touring Car Championship at Moscow Raceway begins with free practice one at 08.30 – 09.00 (GMT+3) on Saturday June 6th, with free practice two following at 11.00 – 11.30. Later that day, qualifying one and two will run from 13:30-14:05, with qualifying three set to begin at 14:10. Two 16 lap races will be run on Sunday, June 7th; with race one scheduled for 12:15 and race two for 13:25.

Craft-Bamboo Racing’s World Touring Car Championship campaign would not have been possible without the support of, Eurodatacar, Ravenol, Gravity, Musto, Team Dynamics and Orangebus.

Quotes

Gregoiré Demoustier, Driver
“After two tough but incredibly exciting races at the Nurburgring, I am now at a circuit where I previously raced during GT. I can’t wait to get out there and really challenge the other independents, the team has worked hard with the car and I am improving with every race.”

Richard Coleman, CEO of Craft-Bamboo Racing
“Moscow Raceway is a very technical circuit and somewhere we found a challenge in 2013, Greg continues to gather experience, I hope that he will be able to fight some good battles and take some more Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy Points although this will be tough as Greg had a bad downshift at the last event so we have had to change the engine for this event and will incur a grid penalty”.
